Oh, what's this?

A Luau Baby Shower! Our friend Sarah and her husband are expecting TWIN GIRLS so today we celebrated with a couple's baby shower. They are wonderful people and I had a ton of fun photographing this event. The babies are due in November, just about a week before Lucy's due date and four days before her actual birthday. It's been so much fun watching Sarah go through her pregnancy since her timeline is so familiar to me. It's hard to believe that a year ago, I was exactly where she is (though only with one baby)!

Our friends Karoline and Suki planned the shower and it turned out amazing!

I'm heading to bed because tomorrow, I get to take family pictures for Sarah. Her mom and sisters flew out for the shower and they need an updated family photo!

HAPPY 8 MONTHS, LUCY!
IMG_3052

Eating:
Still nursing on demand, but she's also sampled quite a variety of different foods. Lots of fruits and vegetables (she really likes apples, pears, broccoli, zucchini), some pasta, and even a little bit of authentic Korean food (kalbi and mochi)! She is definitely a lot more interested in solid food than Arianna was at her age, but I think it's because she enjoys being able to feed herself. If we pick up pieces of food and trying to feed them to her, she takes them from us so that she can do it herself.

Sleep:
She's still a good sleeper despite not being on any type of sleep schedule during the day. She wakes up around 7am, takes a morning nap around 9-10am and then takes 1-2 naps throughout the day. She goes to bed every night between 9-10pm and sleeps through the night.

Milestones:
Lucy celebrated her first 4th of July!

Standing! This one came as a complete surprise as she had just learned to crawl. She can stand unassisted for about a minute at a time and has even tried to take steps. She cruises around furniture so walking might come even sooner than I originally expected!

Weight/Height:
19 pounds and 26.5 inches and in 9-12 month clothing.

Health:
Still in great health and hasn't been sick at all lately. Another tooth popped through (her top left), but she hasn't been as cranky as she was when she was cutting the bottom two.

And, of course, she still absolutely adores her big sister <3

Celebrated a wonderful mama and baby-to-be today! My friend Dawn and I have been planning this shower for two weeks and we were both SO excited to see it all come together! This is baby #4 for mom and she's never had a baby shower so we really wanted to make it something special. We decided to do more of a traditional baby shower (adult women only) and wanted it to be very classy, but still fun.

The theme was gender neutral because mom wasn't able to find out for sure whether she's having a boy or a girl (but she's guessing boy).

Mimi's Cafe party room is a GREAT place for a shower! Very easy to decorate, nice big space, and menu is also very afforable.

673 Days

I promise I have not forgotten about our blog, we have just been insanely busy around here. Birthday parties, baby showers (helping plan them as well as attending them), dance classes, pool time, spending time with friends who we will be saying goodbye to at the end of the month. It just all adds up!

I promise there will be an update when Lucy turns eight months (only three days away.....)! In the meantime, here are some more pictures from the 5th of July when we spent the day with Uncle Bob and Aunt JoAnn.

I had bought these to use on the 4th of July before I found out that fireworks (including sparklers) are banned on base. So we decided to take them to Uncle Bob and Aunt JoAnn's house instead!
