190 Days

First, one from yesterday. Jon and Arianna were playing with the fan that we're using to dry out the ceiling,

Today, Jon and I took Arianna for a long overdue, and MUCH needed haircut! I had been trimming her bangs on my own, but she's gotten increasingly more wiggly and even more impatient and I'm always afraid I'm going to end up nicking her forehead or eyeball. Alas, it was time to hand the job over to a professional.

We took her to Cartoon Cuts in Farifax and they did a good job! They didn't have the fun chairs like our Cool Cuts salon in AZ, but she didn't seem to notice. We got there and had about a 20 minute wait. She was busy playing with the toys and watching Dora on the waiting room television, but I managed to get one last pic of her hair before the cut,

You can see she was thrilled with having to pose for me

The lady who cut her hair was nice and got the job done quickly. When she saw my bust out my Big Camera, she asked if this was Arianna's first hair cut and I had to explain that, no, it wasn't. I just take pictures. Of everything. All the time. Luckily, kid-oriented salons are used to parents with cameras ;)

Time for the haircut!

She got barretts!

All finished!

I LOVE how the cut turned out! It's nice to be able to see her eyes again and not have the back of her hair look so unruly :)

189 Days

We had quite an interesting day here today!

Jon went upstairs and noticed that our master bathroom sink had been leaking. He came downstairs and told me what he had found and that's when we noticed that the ceiling area underneath where the sink is at was completely bowed down. He immediately placed a call to the rental agency (they've been hearing a lot from us lately) who sent out plumbers and someone to cut down the wet part of the ceiling.

The water damage

It peeled right off!

There was quite a bit of water in there

What it looks like now. It needs a few days to dry before they can come repair it

This HUGE, NOISY, GREEN fan ought to speed up the drying process =/

So....that's frustrating. At least it's a seemingly easy fix though and the rental company is covering it. It should be fixed by early next week :)

Yesterday we went to the community park again and met some of the neighbors. They're really nice and I'm grateful that at least we're surrounded by some good people.

Daddy helps her out

Here are also some more from earlier in the week,

She told me that this was "Spongebob"

I may be biased, but I think that's not bad for a 3 year old!

188 Days

We are in Virginia and finally got our internet hooked up today meaning I will once again be able to start posting regularly.

I apologize in advance, but I have once again lost my phone! Not only have I lost my phone, but I've lost my charger as well so once I find my (most likely dead) phone, I still won't be able to use it. This is what happens when you move (or at least, this is what happens when *I* move). At this time, the Great Phone Search March 2010 has been called off and I'm waiting for it to come to me. It usually turns up when I stop looking so I'm hoping that it will find it's way back soon. In the meantime, I can be reached via e-mail.

I haven't taken a ton of pictures of the new place yet, but here are some pictures from the past week.

The rest of the Virginia pictures.

Shopping in Occoquan

I fell in love with the Gaslight Landing condos. Three stories high, beautiful interiors, private elevators, and located right in the middle of all of the restaurants and shopping! Definitely keeping these in mind for when I make my first million ;)

Just about every shop in town had one of these signs either in the window or on the door.
