I know how excited everybody is to find out where our family is headed to later this summer so I'm not going to make you wait any longer. The Bush Family is thrilled to announce that for the next three years, we'll be living in.....

The answer to the second most frequently asked question: Where in Arizona?
IMG_1207

Jon will be working out of RSS Prescott. RSS Prescott is pretty much a one man station and the Sgt.Maj needs someone up there who can get the job done without him being there to look over their shoulder the entire day. He was very impressed that Jon traveled out to Arizona in February to meet with him in person as well as the effort that Jon has put into keeping contact with him. Jon didn't just request that we be sent to Arizona, the Sgt.Maj specifically requested Jon for this position. I am extremely proud of my husband and so thankful for all of the hard work he has put into taking us home.

The girls are so eager to get out to AZ! Arianna wanted to know more about the state so we did some coloring fact worksheets
IMG_1213

So that's our big news! We're still discussing how we're going to do the move, looking for houses, and all of that fun stuff so really we don't know too much other than that we're moving to Prescott, AZ and should be out there by the end of July (no official date). We absolutely cannot wait to start this next chapter of our lives!!!!!

I still can't believe it!

Daisypath Vacation tickers

Yes, it's true! We have finally been given orders and we know where our family we will be spending the next three years. Arianna wants to help me announce it so we'll be working on that this weekend and there will be a post up on Monday to let everybody know.

Until then, I'll narrow it down a bit. During Jon's first week of school, he was asked to choose six different locations of preference. These are the six that we chose and while we were warned that we were not guaranteed any of these locations, we are pleased to announce that we WERE assigned to one of the states that we listed!

Where do you think we're going?
photo-2

PS: We love you all, but no, nobody gets to find any sooner than Monday. We wont be Skyping this weekend since the kids know and can't keep secrets to save their lives and Jon has been sworn to secrecy as well. I promise, you will know soon ;)

SIX MONTHS OLD!!!
Ruby in her pretty dress from @auphelia! #pictapgo_app #babysfirstyear

Where has half the year gone!? I still remember Ru's birth like it was no more than a month ago. She's my third baby so I figured I would just be used to how much babies change during their first year, yet I'm still just absolutely amazed as I watch her grow and learn. In just six months, she's gone from a tiny, squishy baby who couldn't do much more than look around to a chunky, happy crawler who loves to get into whatever she can find. We've been having so much fun with her, take a look at what she's been up to!

Weight/Length:
17 pounds
24.75 inches long

Eating:
Still exclusively breastfed, with a few bottles of pumped milk. She is old enough now to start some solids, but I'm not in a huge hurry for her to meet that milestone so we're going to hold off for a bit longer. She's obviously growing just fine on breastmilk alone so I done see a huge need to rush the solids. I think we may try some banana next month though and maybe some sweet potatoes. We're definitely going to start slow so we don't overwhelm her system!

Sorry, Ru-Ru! No FroYo yet!

She got it! #pictapgo #sweetfrog @jonb421

She enjoys being included in mealtime though!
The biggest and the smallest #PicTapGo #sweetfrog @jonb421

Sleep:
Again, not much change. She still naps for about 2-3 30 minute periods during the day, and wakes up 1-2 times a night.
I love quiet moments #pictapgo_app

Was nursing Ruby to sleep and a furry little friend decided to join us! #pictapgo_app #cat

Health:
Pretty good! She and both of her sisters came down with a mild cough and sniffles, but it lasted less than a week and none of them required a visit to the doctor. I'm actually kind of blaming it on the sudden and erratic changes in weather here. One day it was cool and breezy, the next day it was warm, the day after that it rained, and the next day it was warm and humid.

Milestones:
*5/11- Army crawling and occasionally getting her knees up.
She is trying so hard to make this crawling thing work! #babysfirstyear #pictapgo

*5/12- starting to tripod sit.

Hey little Ru. I see you over there trying to be big! #babysfirstyear #pictapgo

*Playing with toys more and playing independently for longer periods of time- this is a big one for me because as long as she's happy playing on her own, I can get more done around the house. She does love being worn, but with her getting heavier and wigglier, sometimes it's just not easy to get things done with her on my back.

*Crawling!
And one without the binky #pictapgo

A smile! #pictapgo

*Very interested in what her sister's are doing- I think part of the reason that she's become more independent is because she's so into her sisters. If they are playing in the front room, I can set her down on her play mat and she will crawl around and watch whatever it is they're doing.

*Separation anxiety- this has been a less exciting milestone. I know I just said that she's becoming more independent, but I also have to set her down and walk away quickly before she sees me leaving. If she actually sees me walking away, frantic crying ensues. If I had her over to someone else and she can still see me standing there, she leans over and reaches for me.

*Falling asleep in jumper- this has become a reoccurring thing and it's pretty funny!
Set her down to help the older two with their bath and came back down to this @jonb421 #pictapgo #babysfirstyear

Lol, this keeps happening! It must really wear her out. #pictapgo_app @jonb421

I feel so bad that this update came so late! In less than a week, I'll have to put up her seven month update. The months are flying by and she's growing so quickly. She's meeting milestones and impressing us all every day and we are so grateful to have enjoyed half a year with this smallest member of our family! We're looking forward to seeing what all the next half of the year brings for Ru. I need to start figuring out what we're going to do for her first birthday! This lucky little lady gets to celebrate her first birthday (and her second and third!) at home surrounded by family just like both of her sisters did!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO OUR WONDERFUL MOTHERS AND GRANDMOTHERS!

My mom, Sharon Pfeifer. Thank you for loving me unconditionally even through some of my lowest and most difficult points. I know I was not always an easy child, but you never gave up on me and I hope to be half the mother to my children as you were to me as well as the grandma that my (someday) grandchildren deserve.

My mother-in-law, Leslie. Thank you for accepting me, loving me, supporting me, and being a wonderful mother-in-law and grandmother. Thank you for helping to shape my husband into the man that he is today. I hope that I do as wonderful of a job with my children as you have with yours.

My grandmother, Marge. We love you and miss you! Thank you for wonderful childhood memories of baking cookies, going to the post office, climbing the tree in the backyard, exploring in the basement, and Barbie ornaments on Christmas. I look forward to hopefully being able to bring my entire family to Kansas so that you can meet them all.

Jon's grandmother, Darrene. Thank you for always welcoming us into your home, praying for us, and being such a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother. We love you and look forward to hopefully seeing a lot more of you if we are blessed to end up stationed closer to home for the next three years.

TO MY CHILDREN: Thank you thank you thank you for the joy that you bring me, your hugs and kisses, your laughter, your beautiful drawings, and your forgiveness when I don't always get this "mom thing" right. I love you with all of my heart and every fiber of my being and I hope that I can live up to being the mom that you all deserve.
