529 Days

It has been quite an eventful past couple of days here in The Bush Family home! We received some very unexpected, but very exciting news and we can't wait to share it with you all! I promise as soon as things settle down a bit and the time is right, we will let you all know what's going on (just to put it out there- no, we are NOT having another baby). In the meantime, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we still have quite a lot to accomplish before we can truly sit back and celebrate.

Right now, I just want to share some pictures of my beautiful family. I'm so grateful for each one of them and not a day goes by that they don't bring a smile to my face. I don't know what I would do without them.

Some "outtakes" from Lucy's three month pictures.

Friday afternoon, we went into her room to find her like this.....

Saturday evening, Jon had a formal event to go to for the squadron. Since the only time I ever get to see him in his Bravos are when he's forced to wear them (e.g., the USMC birthday ball and our wedding), I took the opportunity to get pictures of him and the girls.

My baby is NOT turning three months old today. Nope. Not happening. I refuse to believe that an entire quarter of her first year has already passed me by. It just simply can't be possible.

IMG_8977

....can it? I guess it can because Lucy will literally probably literally turn three months old about the time I finish up this entry. She has already grown and changed so much in just three short months. I need to weigh and measure her later today, but my guess would be around 14 pounds and 23 inches. She's been trying for a few weeks to roll from front to back and she finally did it this morning! She holding her head up really well while she's on her belly and is just so happy and talkative. I can't wait to see what she's accomplished in another three months.

525 Days

Today was Girls Day Out! It's been a while since I've taken Arianna to do anything outside of the house and now that the girls finally seem to be over the colds that they caught in Arizona, today was the perfect opportunity.

We started at Riverside Dinner Theater where we saw Doo Wop Wed Widing Hood. The storyline may have been a *bit* too old for Arianna, but she enjoyed the music and the dancing and had a good time overall. Lucy ate right before the play began and then slept through the entire thing so that means I had a good time too! The best part? This was an event organized by our housing office so our tickets were free!

It was a really cute play on the story of Little Red Riding Hood, set in the 50's. (Apologies for the poor quality, these are cell phone camera pictures. I had Lucy in my lap and couldn't really get out the big camera.)

After the play, we got lunch at the mall and walked around a couple of stores looking for Easter dresses for the girls. I've had this vision of them in matching Easter dresses, but I finally gave in to the fact that it's just not going to happen. There just aren't very many manufacturers that make the exact same dress in a size 4-5 and a size 3-6 month. The only one I've been able to find was this Carter's dress (Arianna and Lucy). The mall that we were at did not have a Carter's store and the stores that carried Carter's brand didn't have the right sizes. We finally gave up and went to The Children's Place where we found two beautiful dresses. I can't wait to get pictures of the girls in them!

Every time we go to the mall, she gets to ride one of the cars. I'll miss things like this when she's all grown up.....

521 Days

I am in a rut. This happens to me every now and then. I take pictures, get behind on uploading and editing them and when I finally do, I find myself staring at what seems like 1000 pictures (but is really more like....50?). Then I convince myself that I'll just edit and post them later. Just a little bit later when Jon gets home and can watch the kids....later, after dinner....later, after everyone has gone to bed. Then I realize that I should probably sleep too and I realize that "later" is going to have to carry over to the next day. Wash, rinse, repeat.

As a result, I present: Random Picture Post!

516 Days- New Home Number...4!?

The Bush Family has moved!

newhome

"What!? You didn't tell anyone you were moving!"

Oh we're full of surprises over here!

"But Sarah, you swore on Godiva chocolate that you would not be moving again for another three years!"

I know, I know! I hate sorting and packing, figuring out what to keep and what to get rid of, hauling stuff into a truck, going from one place to another and then having to unpack and get settled. Oh and waiting for the cable and internet to get turned on. I don't like that either. It's all such a pain. Thankfully this move required none of that!

"Wait...you are confusing me. Where did you move to? What is your new address so I can send you lots of Godiva chocolate and maybe a new vacuum?"

http://www.bushfamilyfour.com

.......

Are you still with me? If not, we haven't really moved, at least not our physical selves. Some of you may have already noticed that we have a new blog address! I've been wanting to do this for a while, but hadn't because I really want sure if it was necessary to purchase a domain just for my personal blog. I have a lot of friends and family who follow us though and often times people just can't remember our blog address and end up having to text me or call me to get it. While I certainly don't mind giving it out to whoever needs it, I would hate for certain family members (like our grandparents) to miss out on seeing updates because I wasn't able to answer somebody's call or text in time. I am also really good at forgetting to charge my phone and it often dies without me even noticing until I go to use it. In fact....oops. I apologize if you have been trying to contact me today, I am plugging my phone in now! You see why this has become necessary?

The Bush Fam[ily] is still being published through Blogger meaning that if you type in the old address it will just redirect you to the new one. So if you already have the old page bookmarked, there is really no need to update it unless you want to. I am simply hoping that www.bushfamilyfour.com will be just a little bit easier for people to remember than www.bush091809.blogspot.com. So you see, I did this for you. Your chances of being able to remember my blog address and therefore see my family's photos at any given time have just been maximized! Pretty great, eh? ;)

Oh and our home address is still the same if you actually do want to send Godiva chocolates and/or a new vacuum. Far be it from me to decline such kind offers. I could never be so rude ;)

***UPDATE AS OF JUNE 2012***
We have moved again due to the new addition to our family! We can now be found at www.bushfamilyfive.com Make sure you bookmark the new URL because the old one will no longer work.

514 Days

We celebrated Arianna's birthday for a second time yesterday with some family and a few friends. She had a lot of fun and did great with sharing and taking turns (something she struggled with a bit at her AZ party). She thanked everyone for her gifts and for coming to her party. Jon and I were very proud of her yesterday and hopefully her positive attitude will mean that she's going to have a good year ahead of her (three years old was...kind of rough)!

We went to Target and she picked out Disney Princess plates and napkins, Disney a Princess table cloth, Disney Princess party bags and favors (with some Spiderman stuff for the boys). Then we went to the grocery store and looked through the cake book. THREE different Disney Princess cake designs and she picked......

She was in a good mood, I promise. She was irritated with me because I told her she had to wait until later to play with the Minnie Mouse toy.

This was the COOLEST CANDLE EVER! Unfortunately, since I was the one lighting the candle, I didn't get a picture of the initial spark in the middle. Jon got a video of it which I will post just as soon as I figure out how to get it from the camera to the computer. Watch the video on the website to see what it does!
