Nine Months Old!
Weight/Length:
18 pounds/26 inches
Eating:
She's still nursing and in addition to the foods listed in her eight month update, she's also tried strawberries, watermelon, and prunes!
She also got a few bites of froyo from The Orange Leaf, our new favorite yogurt place out here.
Sleep:
She's become a terrible sleeper and there is just no better way to put that. She's been fighting naps altogether and when she does sleep, it's either in the car or for no more than 30 minutes at a time unless I'm holding her. She has been extremely restless at night, not falling into a good deep sleep until about 10-11pm. She DOES sleep a bit later in the morning as long as there isn't too much noise, but you can imagine how often she's in a completely quiet environment with two active older sisters.....
She does sleep well while she's wrapped
Health:
Another new tooth! The top right central incisor is in and she's working on her top right lateral incisor. That's been a tough one for her and she's been extra clingy and fussy. I also think her difficulty sleeping may be due to teething pain.
Milestones:
*First roadtrip!
A cross country roadtrip at that. She did FANTASTIC! I could not have asked for better temperament from her during the drive. I think there were maybe two times where she got really fussy and it was after quite a few hours in the car. Beyond that, she slept, entertained herself (which I can't imagine is an easy feat when you're stuck in a carseat), and just did really really great.

*Met some extended family members, family friends, and made a visit to Graceland!

Longtime friends of Jon's family
*One of my favorites....reaching up for me when I go to pick her up.
I think this is one of the most adorable milestones even though nobody ever really talks about it.
*She's been crawling for a while, but she's lightening fast now.
As soon as she spots Jon or myself, she's across the room in a heartbeat wanting to be held.
*Standing on her own!
This one just happened within the past few days so I don't have any photos of her doing it yet. She is able to lift herself from a sitting to a standing position without holding on to anything.

Happy 9 months, Ruby Star! We enjoy you more and more every day and are so proud of all of your big girl accomplishments! Just three more months until you turn one. Take it slow, mommy and daddy aren't ready. Fingers crossed that next month we'll have some photos of Ruby in her second house!
Max and Ru's last picture together for a while :(
These eyes!
She took this herself!
And this, haha.
This baby loves my wallet. She seems to be very attracted to the color red.

She's on her way to walking!
She's trying so hard to keep up with her sisters
She is going to be a climber!
She enjoys playing outside at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
Grandpa!
She made a neighborhood friend (who was rather tolerant of her climbing on him and shoving her fingers in his mouth)
