474 Days

We're five days into the new year and I still haven't made a post! We've been kind of busy and although I've been taking lots of pictures, I just haven't had the time to sit down, upload them to the computer, upload them to Flickr, and post them. My only excuse is that I have a toddler, a newborn, a house to keep clean, meals to cook, and a husband who I try to spend a few quality minutes with at the end of the day after everything else is done. Forgive me? Take a look at what we've been up to.....

Arianna loves the book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I was excited when I saw that they have a Very Hungry Caterpillar game! Since we JUST had Christmas and she just got Candy Land, I was going to save this one for her birthday, but I failed at being sneaky and she spotted it in the cart. After she saw it, I couldn't keep in from her so we played it as soon as we got home.

The day before New Year Eve, I found out that my friend Valerie was visiting some family in Fairfax! We made plans to have lunch on New Years Eve before she and her husband headed back home to North Carolina. Our visit was short, but after knowing her online for close to two years now, I'm so glad that we got to meet her in person! She and her husband were both so nice and I look forward to seeing them again next time they are out here.

New Years Eve(ning) was very low key. We decided not to try to keep Arianna up until midnight because it would have just thrown off her entire schedule so it was just Jon and I. We watched the ball drop in Times Square, kissed at midnight, and went to bed. Can you tell we really like to party over here? Haha, there just wasn't much going on around here and even if there had been it would have been too difficult to try and go anywhere with Lucy.

New Years Day was nice. I made ham, mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans for lunch and had a small cake and ice cream for dessert. Uncle Bob and Aunt JoAnn came over for the afternoon and we really enjoyed their company.

I think that brings us up to date! I realized today that I hadn't taken any pictures of Lucy since Christmas so I snapped a couple before she lost patience and demanded to be picked up. She is growing so fast, I just can't believe it. Pretty soon she won't even look like a newborn anymore!

More smiles! She's actually starting to react to Jon, Arianna, and I and sometimes smiles at us when we smile at her.

She was pretty much over having her picture taken at this point

Again, I'm sorry for the lack of updates and I'll try to get better about posting more frequently. We're going to be pretty busy over the next couple of days and this weekend, but I will be back next week to let everyone know what we were up to. I can promise that there will be lots of pictures- old friends, new friends, and our very special military family. Take care!
