646 Days

Happy 7 Months, Lucy!

Eating:
She's still nursing like a champ, but.....we're slowly starting solids! We're using the baby led weaning approach meaning that she gets little tastes of whatever we're eating (with limits, of course) and she gets to feed herself rather than us spoon feeding her purees. So far she's sampled banana, apple slices, broccoli, cooked carrots, peas, pasta, rice, chicken, and a few different types of bread. She's not eating much, mainly just sampling all of the different tastes and textures, but it's kind of fun to be able to include her in meal time.

Sleep:
Seven months later, she is still a really great sleeper. She does wake up earlier than she used to, but she still goes down around 9pm every night and sleeps through the night most nights.

Milestones:
Sitting! I knew when I made her six month entry that she would be sitting unassisted by seven months. I know I can sit her down and she won't fall over and if she does start to fall to the side, she's able to catch herself.

Crawling! She's been up on all fours and rocking since about five months and has been trying to figure out how to get moving. She was at a point where she would crawl once or twice and then couldn't figure out how to keep going. She finally mastered it one day before she turned seven months old! It's really cute to watch and we're obviously proud, but this also means we're really going to have to crack down on making sure the house is baby proofed!

She's in a big girl carseat! For about the past three weeks, Lucy had been really unahppy in the car and I finally realized that it was because she just wasn't comfortable in her infant carseat. She still has a ways to go before she outgrows the height and weight limits and she will still be rear facing for at least two more years, but she was definitely ready for a roomier and more upright seat. The girls and I took a little road trip to Georgia to see some friends and I put her in Arianna's convertible carseat (and Arianna in a booster seat). She was SO MUCH happier! It was a twelve hour drive both ways and there is no way we could have done it with her in the infant seat.

Weight/Height:
18.1 pounds and 24.5 inches and in 9-12 month clothing. I cannot believe how big she is! Arianna was 20 pounds at one year old and Lucy is already 18 pounds at only seven months.

Health:
Perfect! She has two teeth that popped through on Memorial Day and her hair has thickened up a ton. She's certainly not the bald little baby that her sister was!
