Ever since May, I've been trying to plan a trip down to Georgia to see two good friends, but things kept coming up and preventing it from happening. We finally decided on a week in June that worked for everybody, but unfortunately it meant that we wouldn't be with Jon on Father's Day. So we celebrated early!
Doing important dad stuff before receiving his gift ;)

Happy Father's Day!

Jon has really been enjoying his gift, but I am grateful that I have a husband who understands how to prioritize game time and family time. He only plays when he's by himself or after the kids have gone to bed and has no problem putting down the controller if the kids or I need him. A few people told me that I was strange for buying him a Father's Day gift that would cause him to spend less time with the kids, but that really has not been the case at all :)
The day after our early Father's Day celebration, the girls and I left for Georgia! I was a little bit (ok, A LOT) nervous about making an 800 mile drive by myself with two kids, but it really couldn't have gone any smoother. I brought plenty of snacks and toys to keep Arianna occupied and we stopped about every 2-3 hours to change and feed Lucy. We left our house at 6am and made it to Cassie's by 6:30pm. Hayden, Vincent, and Arianna didn't waste any time getting reacquainted and were off playing in Hayden's room before I even got into the house with Lucy and the bags. Lucy was initially overwhelmed by the chaos, but warmed up quickly when she saw someone her size:

Luca!
Saturday, two days after we arrived, our friend Jess and her family drove down from Columbus. She has a seven year old son, a two year old son, and a baby who is three months older than Lucy. Cassie, Jess, and I all cloth diaper and we all three have had custom military diapers made by MaMaTuTu. Of course this meant that our poor babies got roped into doing a photoshoot. I'm sure Cassie got much better photos than I did, but here are some outtakes.

Monday afternoon, we took the kids to a place called Jumpin Jacks. to burn off some energy. It's basically a big warehouse full of bounce houses and inflatable slides. I have to say, I was really impressed! Along with the bounce houses for the older kids, they had a (very clean) play area for babies with really nice recliners for parents! Cassie and I sat in the baby area while the older kids ran around and played.
We left GA early Thursday morning and got back in the evening. Jon came back from NYC Friday afternoon and Saturday we celebrated our friend Elena's first birthday! It was such a fun party for a sweet little girl. I can't believe that we'll soon be celebrating our little Lucy's first birthday! The first year flies by way too fast.....
So that's pretty much brings us up to date! Arianna will be starting dance tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to get pictures and video of that (as long as the studio allows it, I will).
