Time to wake up and start the daily routine! *yawn*

First, a shower.

Lucy is up early this morning so she joins me.

Ari wakes up on her own just as I'm finishing my shower and gets in with Lucy. Jon comes in to supervise so that I can go start breakfast.

Making a special breakfast for the birthday girl!

"How old are you today?"
"FIVEEEEEEE!"

7:00am- we lucked out and daddy just happens to be off work today! He finishes up breakfast so I can go finish getting ready.

8:00am- Ready for school and excited for her birthday to be acknowledged by her classmates!

8:20am- time to walk to the bus!

" I love you Ari! Have a good day, I'll see you later!"

Updating Facebook about Ari's birthday!

9:00am- Heading to Walmart to pick up her cupcakes and some party goodies for Saturday!

Can't wait for her to see these!

10:00am- Back home just in time to head to the school! I might be just as excited as Ari is!
Checking in.....

Here we are! The kids are at recess so I set the cupcakes down and get the camera out. Lucy immediately goes for the beanbag.

There she is! Happy Birthday, Ari!

Getting ready for snack time.

She finishes passing out cupcakes and sits down to have one herself!

Cupcakes were definitely a hit!

11:28am- School is out! We drop the leftover cupcakes at home, grab the stroller, and stop for gas.

Being silly while we wait for daddy to pump the gas.

She insists on buckling Aubry. Safety first!

12:00pm- We arrive at Tyson's Corner for lunch and a special trip to the American Girl store!

Jon drops us off and goes to park the car. I take her to the bathroom to change into the outfit that she originally wanted to wear to school (but couldn't because I couldn't find a long sleeve shirt and it was too cold for no sleeves).

12:15pm- Finally! She has been waiting for this outing since Christmas!

Looking at Kaya, an American Girl, a member of the Nez Perce.

The cafe

Going down!

She picks out a hairstyle.

Getting a birthday sticker!

The only picture that I got of myself all day. There are mirror on the ceilings so that you can see what they are doing to the doll's hair.

Choosing a ribbon.

Fishtail braid is finished! (We actually ended up having to get the doll's hair re-done because her hair was really too short for the fishtail and it started to come undone before we even left the store. She actually ended up getting a much prettier style, but I'm not sure if I got pictures of it.)

Lucy was getting pretty bored so we took her out of the stroller and let her push around one of the Bitty Babies

While Lucy plays, Ari picks out a new outfit for Aubry!

Excited to put on Aubry's new ice skating outfit!

Dad had to help out a bit.

Aubry is dressed and ready to skate!

2:30pm- Time for a special (and late!) birthday lunch at Gordon Biersch!

Birthday cake!

The AG store has two levels- the top level is where all of the American Girl character dolls and the AG Cafe are at. The lower level is dedicated to the My American Girl dolls (which is what Ari has) and the salon. We look around upstairs for a bit, but Ari quickly decides that she wants to go downstairs to the salon.

We also went to the Apple store when we finished lunch and let Ari play games on the iPads, but I didn't get pictures of that because Lucy was tired and I was dealing with her. We left the mall around 4pm and all three of us girls fell asleep on the way home. I'm not sure what time we actually got back home. I vaguely remember Jon stopping at a gas station for a Monster and a cookie so it must have taken a while and then as soon as we got to the house, I proceeded to fall asleep on the couch for an unspecified amount of time. It was 6:17pm when I finally woke up.
I didn't take any pictures after this so I guess I technically didn't complete my DITL post, but I did the best I could and I think I documented the most important parts of the day :)
Arianna spent the rest of the evening playing with her doll. She got to Skype with grandma before bed and also got to talk to Jon's Grammy and Papa on the phone and tell them all about her day. I really do think she had a wonderful and memorable day which is exactly what I wanted. She already has a wishlist of stuff she wants from the AG store though so we're going to have to space them out over all of the gift giving holidays, haha. I'm thinking maybe one of the playsets on her last day of school (she mentioned wanting the bathtub set) and then the ballerina outfit after she does her first dance recital this summer :)

Oh my goodness, I have a FIVE YEAR OLD!
