Eating:
She's still on 100% mama milk and thriving beautifully. Since she is now six month old she is technically "of age" to start solid food, but we will be delaying for just a bit longer. We're doing the baby lead weaning approach and there are still a couple of readiness signs that Lucy isn't showing (sitting unassisted and pincer grasp). As soon as she shows those signs, we'll start offering her samples of the things that we're eating.
"I will eat the grass though, mama....."
Sleep:
She's been waking up earlier than she was in the past (6-7am as opposed to 8am), but we have sort of a morning routine down. We get up around 7am and take a shower. She plays on the floor for a little while until she's ready for a morning nap. The length of that nap mainly depends on whether or not I'm holding her. If she's in my arms, she could easily sleep for two hours, but if I set her down it's closer to 30 minutes, if even. She just really prefers to be held when she sleeps during the day. She's still a great night sleeper, waking about two times to nurse.
Milestones:
She is *thisclose* to crawling! She can easily get herself up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth, she just hasn't quite figured out how to get herself moving once she's in the position. She does the "Army crawl" and can kind of kick off with her feet in order to get where she wants to go. I have a feeling that she'll master it by seven months.
She figured out how to blow raspberries sometime in the past couple of days and thinks it's AWESOME! She also seems to have "found" her voice and has what Jon refers to as her "6am screams." Good thing she's so cute because....screaming.....at 6am....yea.....
When she's not screaming though, she's babbling and saying, "Dada! Dada!" which is adorable, especially when she looks right at Jon and says it <3
She can sit for several seconds unassisted, but not to the point that I would be comfortable just sitting her down and leaving her. She definitely still needs either an adult close by or to be surrounded by pillows because she eventually falls over. She's getting there though! Again, I think that she could easily have this mastered by seven months.
Weight/Height:
I finally got a new scale that is much easier to weigh her on and also pretty accurate. She's a little over 16 pounds and probably about 24-24.5 inches. I've started weeding out our 6M clothing and have been putting her in 9M and even some 12M (it's a bit big).
Health:
Still no teeth! She's in perfect health though other than an occasional runny nose which I suspect is allergies because it never comes with any other symptoms.
I can't believe how much Lucy has changed in just six months and it should be even more fun to see how much she grows in another six. Before I know it, I'll be celebrating her first birthday.....
