We had a nice, yet somewhat nontraditional Easter. The day before, Jon left early in the morning to get me a belated birthday cake since he wasn't home on my actual birthday. It came out REALLY good and we've been enjoying it all week.
With it being Lucy's first Easter, I really wanted to get a picture of her with the Easter Bunny, but the week went by so quickly and I ran out of time. The day before Easter, we decided to take the girls to Bass Pro Shop because 1.) Jon wanted to look at fishing poles for him and Arianna and 2.) I read online that they had an Easter Bunny! We ended up spending a couple of hours there, got an Easter picture, and even got Arianna a fishing pole!

Lucy, the day before her first Easter

Easter morning was nice and laid back. We went to an early church service and then came home for chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. Arianna got to open her Easter basket and spent the day playing with her stuff and enjoying a chocolate bunny. We unfortunately didn't get around to dyeing eggs or doing an egg hunt, but Arianna didn't seem to notice so we'll just have to plan for that better next year.
Despite Arianna being sick, we've managed to spend a lot of time outside now that it's warming up and the wind isn't blowing as much. We took a long walk up to a new-to-us park in the neighborhood and let the girls burn off some energy.

I hope she feels better quickly!
ReplyDeleteThe picture of Jon on the playground equipment makes me laugh.
