We went to Brenten's birthday party yesterday at noon and ended up being gone most of the day. The plan was to go to the party, eat, do presents, and then go to the Metro Richmond Zoo. We left the house at 11am and got to the party at 12:20pm thanks to this:
This is traffic on the 95 South at 11am on a Saturday. Ridiculous!
We had a good time once we got there though! I met two other women who have husbands in Jon's unit and they both have kids just a year younger than Arianna. One of them just found out that she's expecting her second baby! They were really nice and hopefully I'll be able to get to know them both a little better. The family who is expecting just moved on base and said that they really like it. So we'll know someone else in base housing once we move in September.

After the presents, the other two couples left and the plan was for us and Brenten's family to go to the zoo. We left their house at 3pm and halfway down the road we all realized that we weren't going to make it. The zoo was an hour and a half away and was only open until 5pm. So we did the next best thing- Bass Pro Shop, haha. Hey, there's an aquarium and some (fake) bears and dear. It's almost as good as the zoo, right? We stayed out there for about two hours so it was entertaining enough!
Today has been a lazy day for me. I'm sore from walking around so much yesterday and trying to take it easy. Jon finished two pens, about four loads of laundry, and vacuumed the basement. I'm glad one of us has been productive!
