The flier advertised music, reading, lunch and a special surprise at the end. I was really excited to take her and hoped that she would meet some other kids her age.
It turned out to be a nice event, but possibly a little bit too old for her. They went through American history from the 17th century all the way up to present day and she didn't understand any of that. Unfortunately she also seemed to be in a bit of a "mood" and didn't want to sing, dance, or interact with the other kids. Ah, three year olds.
She did NOT want me to take her picture today!

A few of the older kids (plus some of the more outgoing toddlers) participated in the music and skits.
Not my kid! She wanted nothing to do with it.

I have no idea who these girls are, but they were adorable! I can't wait to see Arianna and Lucy interact like this.

Toward the end she came over and sat by me

After the program, they served lunch which finally put her in a better mood. She also got a chocolate chip pumpkin muffin and a book (these were the surprise) with all of the songs and some recipes (including the muffin). As we were leaving she FINALLY smiled and told me that she had fun. Then she asked when her daddy was coming home.
That's when it occurred to me that she may have been in a bad mood because a lot of the other kids were there with their dads and she hasn't seen hers in a week. He went out to AZ for a wedding and was on his way back home. I told her last night that he would be home sometime today so I think seeing him was on her mind. We came home and she helped me finish cleaning up the house while we waited for him. He got back around 5:00pm and she was SO excited!

She told him all about what she did today and pretty much hasn't left his side. He grabbed his suitcase to take it upstairs and she freaked out thinking that he was leaving again. Yup, I think we definitely have an explanation for her mood earlier. He brought home a ton of stuff for the baby, for Arianna, and stuff from both of our houses that we weren't able to take when we moved so we're sorting through everything now and doing laundry. Very thankful that we're all together again!
